TAKE YOUR SKILLS TO THE NEXT LEVEL & MAKE NEW FRIENDS
Let's make a band!
There is no better way to master your instrument than to play in a group with your friends. Our ensembles bring everything you learn in your private lessons to a group setting, where student bands are directed on how to work as a team through fun exercises in group dynamics and creativity. Our ensembles are different than most other programs you've heard of: we don't do cookie cutter set list programs, and our ensembles continue throughout the year, as long as you'd like to stay in your band. Our bands are meant to be a reflection of what our students will see in the real world: ongoing musical projects where the students have input and creative control over song selection, major decisions, and band direction.
So.i.Heard bands will also be able to play at a variety of shows including events at local venues, and at our yearly recital. For those students who have expressed interest in performance opportunities, this is your chance!
In order to join one of our bands, you MUST audition with our band director. Auditions are meant to help place your student in the right band, and should not be a scary or stressful experience. All auditioning students should have at least two years of private lesson experience on their instrument, and should come prepared to demonstrate basic knowledge of chords and chord progressions, as well as one piece they are currently working on with their teacher. Please fill out the form below to apply for a band audition. Once we have received the form, we will reach out and let you know what your audition date is.
LET US KNOW YOU'RE INTERESTED
Band auditions take place on Friday afternoons. Interested students must be enrolled in private lessons at So.i.Heard while they are in the band. To become a So.i.Heard private lesson student, click here.
Auditions for the Fall 2017 Band Enrollment period will take place between August 21st and September 15th. Please fill out the form below, and you will be contacted with an audition date.
