We’re so excited that you decided to try So i Heard!

You should already have received a confirmation email confirming the appointment day and time. If you have an instrument, bring it to the lesson! If not, don’t worry. We can always provide one at in-person lessons for you or provide an alternative for the trial lesson session. Piano players and drummers never need to bring their instruments to their lessons. For online lessons, make sure you have an instrument. If you do not have an instrument, we can still work on basic concepts and discuss what to get!

For Online Lessons:

If you signed up for an online trial lesson, you will receive a Zoom link before your lesson. At the time of your trial, join your instructor’s link as listed here. Make sure you check your spam folder! If you do not have the Zoom app or client, make sure to test your system before the lesson. Call 973-232-5111 for support during business hours and we’ll do our best to help! Sometimes, Zoom issues are as simple as checking your audio settings or doing a quick Google search for troubleshooting tips!

What happens after the trial?

After your trial lesson, let us know if you’d like to enroll! We reserve the time slot of your trial lesson for you as a recurring time until the close of business on the day of your trial lesson. Make sure to let us know that you want to continue. If we don’t hear from you by the end of the business day, your time slot opens back up and could get booked by another potential student!

How does enrollment work?

Enrollment at So i Heard Music is a month to month commitment. Front desk staff will prorate your first month’s tuition to the day of your first enrolled lesson. You will be charged a flat-rate fee on the first of every month that pays for your lessons that month. Lesson pricing stays the same every month. Some months have three lessons, most have four lessons, and some months have five lessons. The cost for 1/2 hour lessons is $175/month and the cost of 1-hour lessons is $325/month. If you want to discontinue lessons at any time, just let us know before the 25th of your last month taking lessons, and you won’t be charged again.

What does “flat-rate fee” mean?

All of our physical locations follow a calendar that closely resembles the local school calendar, which means we do not open when schools are not in session. In other words, you are not paying for these scheduled breaks. We take the total cost of expected lessons throughout the year, usually between 43 and 45 lessons, and divide that cost by 12 to get your flat-rate fee. Some months will have 3 scheduled lessons, and others will have 4 or even 5. Your price is always the same.

Online lessons and in-person lessons follow the same general calendar and pricing scheme.
